Winemaking Notes
This Malbec is beautifully aromatic with blueberry and nutmeg. It offers great depth of flavor with a velvety palate of boysenberry, sweet tobacco, and a subtle peppery note, that finishes long with smooth tannins and balanced acidity.
Vineyard Notes
Justi Creek Vineyard, our original estate property located at our winery in Glen Ellen, was an enclave for the earliest French winemakers in California in the 1890's. It has been painstakingly restored and reimagined with great attention to detail, and is the site of our small, eco-friendly winery.
The vineyards diversity of terroir is a great asset. Bordeaux varieties thrive in the cobbled soils of the Upper Bench and Heritage Rhône clones are planted alongside our Old Vine Zinfandel block at the highest point in the vineyard.
