Winemaking Notes
Enjoué is a "true" Rosé, inspired by our travels through Southern France. Fruit is ripened specifically to produce an aromatic, flavorful, crisp Rosé, rather than through the saignée process where juice is "bled" to produce Rosé as a by product of red wine production.
Pale peach in color, this wine offers scents of nectarine, Gala apple, and a refreshing palate of Asian pear and guava. The finish is clean and mineral.
Vineyard Notes
Justi Creek Vineyard, our original estate property located at our winery in Glen Ellen, was an enclave for the earliest French winemakers in California in the 1890's. It has been painstakingly restored and reimagined with great attention to detail, and is the site of our small, eco-friendly winery.
The vineyards diversity of terroir is a great asset. Bordeaux varieties thrive in the cobbled soils of the Upper Bench and Heritage Rhône clones are planted alongside our Old Vine Zinfandel block at the highest point in the vineyard.
Label Artwork
The back label of this wine is graced with a commissioned work of art from Dennis Ziemienski that tells the unique story of the wine.
Enjoué is French for "playful" or "joyful," and the diving woman pictured in the label artwork was chosen to reflect the delightful crisp Rosé that is in the bottle.
