Winemaking Notes

Since 2000, Lasseter has crafted exquisite wines inspired by the vineyards from which they were grown. This Syrah represents our commitment to, and passion for, producing wines that reflect the immense beauty and complexity of our vineyard sites. The Moon Mountain District is home to our Trinity Ridge Vineyard, the source of the grapes for this exceptional bottling. This high elevation site, rooted in diverse volcanic soils, provides ample sunlight and cool temperatures, needed to produce wines of intensity and finesse, hallmarks of the world's finest bottlings.

Reminiscent of the best wines of the northern Rhône Valley, this wine has aromas of blackberry, cherry, black pepper, bacon jam, smoked meats and iron. The rich and dense texture is infused with bakers chocolate, dark cherry, blackberry compote and saddle leather on the mid-palate. The finish is long and unctuous.

Vineyard Notes

Trinity Ridge Vineyard sits high above Sonoma Valley, along the southwestern slope of the Mayacamas Mountain Range overlooking the winery. This spectacular 9 acre vineyard, situated at the height of elevation in the Moon Mountain District, reflects our continuing commitment to produinge spectacular wines that express the best of our exceptional vineyard sites. Trinity Ridge is a wild and untamed terroir of volcanic complexity with 107 different volcanic soils littered with jagged rocks which together impart minerality, depth of character and color to the grapes grown here. The southwestern exposure and elevation of this site, high above the fog line, create consistent, slightly wamer temperate ranges, perfect for producing wines of great intensity and finesse.

Trinity Ridge Vineyard was planted by and is farmed organically under the watchful eye of vineyard manager Phil Coturri. This vineyard, consisting of two unique sites with varying elevation and exposure, is planted to Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.
